Days 01—07 · Required module

VTOL concept & design

Design a VTOL concept for a real-world mission and justify the configuration.

  • 2–3 page PDF report
  • Sketch or CAD concept
  • Weight, thrust & power budget
Original computational airflow study of a VTOL aircraft

Days 08—14 · Required module

Flight simulation

Configure a free SITL environment and fly a hover-to-cruise waypoint mission.

  • 5–8 minute mission video
  • One-page configuration log
  • Issue and resolution notes
Original UAV aerodynamic and structural analysis study
03
Days 15—21 · Required module

Capstone package

Refine the concept into a complete, feasible VTOL solution and pitch it.

  • Final PDF report
  • 8–12 slide deck
  • 5–7 minute pitch video
Original cutaway rendering of a VTOL airframe structure

Build from first principles

From internal structure to flight behavior.

The work combines aircraft architecture, documented design decisions, simulation evidence, and a clear technical presentation.

Work that can be reviewed.

Complete all three modules on time to qualify for certification. The strongest capstones may receive a follow-up interview.
